Platform Disclaimer
Last updated: May 2026. Important limitations and clarifications about the Gridly platform.
§ 1 — What Gridly Is
Gridly is a supplementary educational tool that generates crossword puzzles from uploaded textbook content. It is designed to help teachers create engaging review activities and study aids. Gridly is a productivity tool for educators — it automates the mechanical process of building crossword grids and writing clues from source material.
§ 2 — What Gridly Is Not
Gridly is not a curriculum, a textbook, a testing platform, or a substitute for professional educational judgment. It does not assess student performance, assign grades, or make pedagogical recommendations. Puzzles generated by Gridly are tools for reinforcement and review, not formal assessments or authoritative reference materials.
§ 3 — Accuracy Limitations
While we strive for high accuracy in term extraction and clue generation, Gridly's output is algorithmically generated and may contain errors. Clues may be imprecise, incomplete, or contextually misleading. Extracted terms may include irrelevant vocabulary or miss important concepts. Grid layouts may not perfectly accommodate all desired terms. Teachers should always review generated puzzles before distributing them to students. Gridly provides a strong starting point, but teacher review is the final quality check.
§ 4 — Content Responsibility
You are responsible for the content you upload and the puzzles you distribute. Gridly processes whatever text you provide — it does not evaluate whether the source material is accurate, appropriate, or properly licensed. Ensure that you have the right to use any content you upload and that generated puzzles are appropriate for your students' grade level and context.
§ 5 — Not a Replacement for Teacher Judgment
Gridly is a tool, not a teacher. The platform cannot assess whether a particular puzzle is appropriate for your specific classroom, student population, or learning objectives. Difficulty calibration is approximate and should be verified against your knowledge of your students. We encourage teachers to test every puzzle before distributing it.
§ 6 — Beta Status
Gridly is currently in open beta. Beta software may contain bugs, experience downtime, or change without notice. Features available today may be modified, replaced, or removed in future versions. We make no guarantees about the availability, reliability, or continuity of any specific feature during the beta period.
§ 7 — Third-Party Content
Gridly does not host, endorse, or verify any uploaded textbook content. The platform processes content provided by users and generates puzzles from it. We have no control over the accuracy, legality, or appropriateness of uploaded materials. Any trademarks, copyrights, or intellectual property referenced in uploaded content belong to their respective owners.
§ 8 — No Professional Advice
Nothing on this platform constitutes professional educational, legal, or technical advice. Gridly is a puzzle generation tool. For questions about curriculum design, assessment strategy, student accommodations, or educational policy, consult qualified professionals in your institution.
§ 9 — Contact
